Bio

"I have heard Bryan in Prague with Chopin's Ballade No. 4 and his beautiful story of his passion for music... Music flows inside Bryan as if it's united with his sensitive soul. His music can touch the souls of others and his musical personality is very attractive and magnetic.”

- Prof. Grzegorz Niemczuk

"Bryan Soo is a talented young pianist who plays with sensitivity and passion, infusing his performances with emotion.”

- Régulo Martínez-Antón

“Bryan possesses a distinctly beautiful and expressive sound at the piano that is exquisitely nuanced and articulated. Perhaps foremost is his artistic sensitivity, instinct, and ability to communicate this with earnestness.”

- Dr. John Sharpley

Bryan Soo is a Singaporean pianist, concert artist, producer, and pedagogue whose playing has been praised for its emotional depth, refined sensitivity, and magnetic expressivity. He began piano at the age of fifteen with no prior musical background — an origin story that shapes everything about how he performs, teaches, and creates.

Active internationally across Asia, Europe, and the United States, Bryan has appeared at venues including the UdK Konzertsaal in Berlin, the Esplanade Recital Studio, Sala Sudasiri Sobha Steinway Hall in Bangkok, Prugio Art Hall in Seoul, Karura Hall in Tokyo, and the Concert Hall at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, alongside performances at the National Museum of Singapore and the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre.

In 2025, Bryan made his Berlin orchestral concerto debut performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor at the UdK Konzertsaal, and later presented the chamber version of the concerto in Tokyo. His 2024 United States debut in California featured Chopin's Fourth Ballade, Poulenc's Improvisations, and a free improvisation — a completely unplanned, spontaneous work unique to the moment.

Beyond performing, Bryan is active as a producer and artistic curator. He produced a full-scale presentation of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with pianist Noah Zhou — the first British-born laureate of the International Rachmaninoff Piano Competition — leading artistic direction, programming, and project development for a concert that sold nearly 500 tickets. His work reflects a commitment to creating thoughtful, story-driven musical experiences that connect artists and audiences more meaningfully.

He is the Founder and Artistic Director of BespokeArts, an independent curatorial platform dedicated to developing thoughtfully programmed performances, collaborations, and artist-led projects. Through BespokeArts, Bryan shapes concert experiences that foreground sound, context, and artistic intent, presenting both emerging and internationally acclaimed artists.

Bryan serves on the faculty of the OpusOne International Music Festival alongside distinguished artists including Dmitry Rachmanov, James Anagnoson, and Greg Anderson. He is also Director of IAPMT Singapore, the Singapore chapter of the International Association of Professional Music Teachers, and serves as an international adjudicator for both the IAPMT and the Satori Music Competition in Los Angeles.

A dedicated educator with over a decade of teaching experience, Bryan regularly conducts masterclasses and workshops across Asia, Europe, and the United States — most recently at the Piano Academy of Bangkok, the largest piano academy in Thailand. His students have achieved strong results at major competitions: at La Pianista 2026, his students took 1st Prize and 4th Prize in a senior category, the Promising Pianist Award in the junior category, and produced two finalists for the Golden Lion Award, among other distinctions.

Bryan has earned recognition across a range of international platforms, including a Finalist placement at the Piano Island Competition — on a panel that included International Chopin Piano Competition winner Dang Thai Son — along with Gold Awards and Star Awards at the Overseas Performers' Festival across consecutive years, a Gold Award at Le Petit Performers' Festival, a placement in the International Brilliant Talent Discovery Awards, and Finalist recognition at the American International Music Competition. He has also been awarded scholarships to the Montecito International Music Festival in California and the Piano Island Festival in Jakarta.

Bryan completed his BA (Hons) in Music at LASALLE College of the Arts, under the University of the Arts Singapore, where he received the Distinguished Performers Award — the institution's highest performance honour, presented to the most outstanding performer of the cohort. He completed his formal ABRSM grade training within two years of picking up the instrument.

He is an official ambassador for SÖT Coffee, a specialty coffee brand based in Japan whose beans were ranked #3 in the world by CoffeeReview 2021, integrating his passion for music and specialty coffee into concerts, collaborations, and community initiatives.

Teaching Philosophy

Bryan is a musician who greatly focuses on performing and the art of performing. Being greatly influenced by this, Bryan's unique teaching approach to his students not only trains them to "play the piano", but also to be a holistic musician and performer. He strongly believes that the art and skillset in performing also greatly affect one's other perspectives and approach in life positively. Providing more drive, motivation, and focus in other facets of one's life. The ripple effect of this is then simply, the ability to excel.

His lessons also aim to pass on his strong passion for music to his students while being effective and engaging.
